Call, WhatsApp or a form: how visitors reach you

How the call and WhatsApp buttons on your page work, which number to give us, and where form enquiries land.

A WannaSEO sales page is built around one action. For many businesses that action is a phone call or a WhatsApp message, so the button for it sits where a visitor on a phone can tap it, and the call to action is repeated down the page. You choose the route in your brief.

The routes

Route What the visitor sees What we need from you
A call A call button showing your number; one tap dials it The number, as you want it shown
WhatsApp A WhatsApp button that opens a chat with you A WhatsApp number with its country code
A form An enquiry form on the page Ask for it in your brief
A booking link A main button to your booking page, or another page you name The link

A page can carry more than one route, such as a booking button with a call button beside it, or a call button with a WhatsApp button next to it. It still asks for one main action.

The call button

The button shows your number and dials it when tapped. It appears only when you have given us a number. The automatic check stops a page with a badly formed phone link, or a number that looks invented, such as 1234567890.

The WhatsApp button

The button opens a WhatsApp chat addressed to you. It uses the WhatsApp number you give us, or your phone number if that already includes the country code. We never guess a country code: without one, there is no WhatsApp button. If your phone number is not on WhatsApp, tell us, and the page carries no WhatsApp button at all. A WhatsApp button without a number cannot be published, because the automatic check stops it.

The form

The form asks for a name and an email address or a phone number, with room for a message. If you want your page to collect enquiries through a form, say so in your brief. The Complete level for sales pages includes a lead capture form.

Enquiries are saved to your list. You open it from the client portal, under Leads, or from the enquiries page linked from your delivery report. Each entry shows the name, the email or phone, the message and when it arrived, and a phone number in the list is a link you can tap to call back.

We do not send you an email for each new enquiry, so check the list regularly and reply to the people who wrote.

Prefer calls to forms?

You can switch the form off yourself, from the enquiries page or from the portal. Visitors then see your direct contact details instead: your phone, WhatsApp and email, whichever you have given us. You can switch the form back on at any time.

Numbers are never invented

We use only the contact details you give us, and every figure and number on a sales page has to come from somewhere, usually your brief. On the free start, your contact details are confirmed before the page is published. If your number changes later, write to us with the new one: see Changes and corrections after delivery.

Test it yourself

When the page is live, open it on your phone and tap every button. If you chose Pro or Complete, do the same on the draft before you approve it.
