Every sales page passes an automatic check before it is published, the free page included. The check reads the finished, rendered page, not a draft in a document, and the page cannot go live while any blocking item fails. A page that fails goes back to production, is fixed and is checked again. You never see the failed version. Articles are checked before publishing too; this article covers the sales-page check.
A real way to reach you
- An enquiry form on the page, or, on a page built without one, a working phone link. If you switch the form off, a phone or email link must show in its place. A page with no way to reach you cannot be published.
- Phone links must be well-formed numbers, and a WhatsApp button must carry a number.
- Your email address and phone number must not look invented, such as an address starting with test@ or a number such as 1234567890.
- The form sends enquiries to the page's own address, so browsers do not block them.
The structure of the page
- A main headline, a services section, a closing call to action, at least one trust item, and a footer.
- Exactly one main heading (H1).
- A page title of 30 to 65 characters, and a description of 70 to 160.
What search engines read
- Structured data that is valid and declares its type. A star rating is refused unless reviews come with it.
- A page that is not live yet tells search engines not to list it. A live page does not, and it carries a canonical link.
Readable for everyone
- Your main brand colour must reach a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1 against white. White text on your accent colour below 3 to 1 raises a note.
- Every image needs a text description (alt text).
- Your logo must stay visible on the bar at the top of the page. If it would practically disappear, the page stops.
Claims trace to a source
- Text that looks like a claim needs a source recorded with the page: numbers of years, customers, projects or reviews, percentages, prices, and words such as best, fastest, cheapest, leading, guaranteed, number one or 24/7.
- A claim still waiting for your confirmation can appear in a preview, but it blocks publishing until you confirm it.
- Some phrases are never allowed, such as a promise of first place on Google, "unlimited" or "award-winning".
- No placeholder text or links, such as "lorem ipsum" or example.com.
Your brand, not a template
- Your real logo, never your name typed in its place. If you truly have no logo, we record that instead.
- Colours taken from your website or given in your brief, not a stock palette.
- Artwork made for this page. An illustration drawn for one page is never copied onto another.
- If you order several pages, they must not all share the same structure at the top, so they do not look alike.
- The logo and main image files the page uses must exist.
Notes that do not block publishing
The production team also sees notes on the depth of the page: at least three benefit points at the top, four or more services with specific descriptions, a credibility section, at least five questions and answers, three or more illustrations, a browser-tab icon and a tagline. These notes guide the work without stopping it.
What the check cannot know
It cannot know whether a fact you gave us has changed since you sent it, and it does not decide how search engines treat the page. That is why your brief matters, and why Pro and Complete let you approve the page first.
How the call and WhatsApp buttons work is in Call, WhatsApp or a form: how visitors reach you. After publishing, the page's link is in The delivery report, its PDF and the list of links.
